This position aims to provide a safe and secure environment for patients, employees, and visitors of Boston Medical Center.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

• Patrol all properties on foot and by vehicle, maintaining a visible presence to ensure safety.
• Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and safety violations.
• Monitor conduct of visitors and address unauthorized persons.
• Conduct fire drills and complete related documentation.
• Act as liaison with law enforcement, fire department, and other agencies.
• Inspect and troubleshoot security systems.
• Patrol parking areas, issue violations, and enforce parking regulations.
• Assist with transporting deceased and document valuables and patient information.
• Respond to staff requests, including restraining patients and providing standby assistance.
• Record and secure patient valuables and belongings, ensuring proper documentation.
• Ensure compliance with the medical center's identification program.
• Perform door lock/unlock procedures as needed.
• Oversee security activities in the absence of a supervisor and report to the Director of Security.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's in Criminal Justice preferred.
• 1-2 years of security experience in healthcare or related field.
• Strong communication skills and computer literacy.
• Ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Must obtain and maintain required training, including BLS and Management of Aggressive Behavior certification.
• Pass criminal background check.
