Job summary

DK Security, Inc. is seeking a Security Officer for a multi-warehouse distribution center in Bellefontaine, OH. You will uphold safety, monitor access, and respond to incidents, working full-time Monday–Friday 0000–0800 at a set rate of $17.50/hour.

Requirements include 18+, a high school diploma or GED, clean driving record and English fluency. CPR/First Aid training and armed-custody readiness may apply; E-Verify and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Armed security eligibility requires Michigan CPL or LEOSA per local regulations.
• No felonies as per MCL 338.1060.
• Drug screening at hire and random testing, including marijuana.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication; fluency in English.
• Valid Michigan driver's license with clean record if driving company/client vehicles.
• Willing to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
• Able to move quickly and respond to emergencies.
• Physically and mentally sound; armed officers require a psych evaluation.
• Able to work 8-12 hour shifts indoors/outdoors.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds (70 lbs armed).

Responsibilities

• Customer Service: assist client staff, visitors, and coworkers, maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Observe and Report any suspicious activities or incidents.
• Perform foot and/or vehicle patrols as assigned.
• Manage Access Control and verify IDs; enforce procedures.
• Ensure safety and report concerns at the location.
• Assist in emergencies; CPR/First Aid/AED as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Skills / Requirements

As a Security Officer at DK Security, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' properties. This opening is at multi-warehouse distribution center for a large Midwest retailer.

Security Officer Duties Include The Following

• Customer Service: Be a positive reflection of the company and yourself by assisting client staff, visitors, and coworkers, and maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.


• Observe and Report: Stay alert and be on the lookout for any suspicious activities and incidents.


• Security Officer: Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of your assigned areas performing security officer duties as required.


• Access Control: Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas, check employee and vendor IDs, and follow proper access procedures.


• Safety Patrol: Ensure a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors, enforcing the policies and procedures of the assigned location and reporting any safety concerns.


• Emergency Response: Be ready and able to assist in emergencies, including the administering of CPR/First Aid/AED care and communicating with emergency personnel using the proper protocols.


• Other duties as assigned.

Shift Openings:

Full-Time Monday - Friday 0000-0800

Rate of Pay:

$17.50/hour (set by contract, non-negotiable)

LOCATION: Bellefontaine, OH

Job Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent education certification, such as a GED, per MCL 338.1067


• 17(2). (Must also be at least 21 years old and be a Michigan CPL or LEOSA cardholder to perform armed security work).


• Must not have been convicted of any felonies, per MCL 338.1060


• 10(1)(c).


• Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanors related to honesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including for marijuana), or two or more alcohol related offenses, per MCL 338.1060


• 10(1)(c).


• Must be able to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana).


• Must adhere to our company’s Uniform and Appearance policy and present a friendly, positive, and professional image.


• Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner. This includes the ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language.


• If driving company or client vehicles, or if using your own vehicle for work activities, must possess a valid State of Michigan driver’s license and have a clean driving record with less than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years, less than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years, and no other major violations in the last 3 years.


• Must be willing to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified and be capable of administering this care in emergency situations.


• Must be able to move quickly, including running short distances, to respond in emergency situations.


• Must be physically and mentally sound and able to always remain alert while on duty. (Armed security officers must complete a psychological evaluation upon hire.)


• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk long distances, including navigating stairs, for the duration of the shift (8-12 hours).


• Must be able to work indoors or outdoors during all seasons.


• Must be able to use hands and fingers to manipulate keys, tools, and other equipment.


• Must be able to hear conversations (in person or via 2-way radio) in noisy environments.


• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. (70 lbs. if working as an armed security officer)


• Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision. IND1
