# Security OfficerAmericus, GALocation:Sumter Campus### Security Officer**Location:** Americus, GA**Job ID:** 35190## Job SummaryProvide security for patients, employees, and visitors; protect hospital buildings, assets, and premises as assigned.## Qualifications* High School Diploma or GED (Required)## Work Experience* 2 - 3 years healthcare security and/or Law Enforcement field with guard service or military police (Preferred)## Licenses and Certifications* Not Applicable - No Certification and Licensure Requirements Required or Preferred## Essential Functions### SECURITY DUTIES* Provide safety and security for facility.* Patrols daily, by vehicle and on foot, all hospital buildings on campus grounds to detect, deter, or address.* Responds immediately to authorized requests for access to internal offices.* Maintains safety and security of warehouse through door checks and random vehicle and walking patrols.* Patrols all parking lots and assists visitors; escorts, when required, by vehicle or on foot patrol.* Keeps all Emergency Center hallways and ambulance ramp clear.* Inspects all access points to hospital authority building and internal offices, securing same when not occupied, following department policy and procedure.### TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT USE* Demonstrates technical skill in using equipment appropriate for role.* Understands equipment operation.* Maintains equipment in working order.* Troubleshoots equipment problems.* Uses technology to increase productivity.* Adapts to new technology.## Additional Duties* Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.* Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization.* Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.* Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs).* Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.* Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.* For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age-specific customer service skills.* Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
