Job summary

Port Security Services, Inc. in Connecticut is hiring security officers for 24/7 port/terminal coverage in the New London/Montville area. Applicants must hold a valid CT Security Officer license, a valid driver's license, and commit to obtaining a TWIC card within 14 days.

The role includes paid pre-employment training after the first week and a mandatory 90-day probation period. Shifts include day/night and weekends with overtime paid at time-and-a-half on holidays.

Qualifications

• Possess VALID Connecticut Security Officer License
• Have a VALID Driver’s License
• Will apply for and secure a VALID TWIC card within the first 14 days
• PAID PRE-EMPLOYMENT TRAINING AFTER 1ST WEEK OF WORK
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience
• Have reliable transportation
• Be able to pass a Drug Test and Background Check
• Be fluent in English (read, write and speak)
• Have basic computer knowledge

Responsibilities

• Access control at security checkpoints/gates (training provided)
• Log incoming/outgoing traffic in accordance to regulations (training provided)
• Possibility of Patrols on foot and/or via vehicle (training provided)

CURRENT COVERAGE HOURS: 8 and 12 hour shifts available, Day/Night and Weekends

24/ 7 -- Security Contract guarding Ports/Terminals in the New London/Montville, CT Area -- Currently operating under PER-DIEM that could turn into permanent part-time/full time position depending upon your aptitude.

The more flexible you are with your hours the more opportunities are waiting for you.

Pay is consummate with your Restricted Area Guard Experience; if you already have TWIC Card, etc. The more Restricted Area guard experience you have AND if we don't have to train you from the start...the better your salary.

HOLIDAYS PAID AT TIME AND HALF RATES (mandatory for new hires)

To enhance your employment: Salary Review AFTER successfully passing 90 DAYS PROBATION (based on performance/attendance)
