Job summary

United Security Inc. is seeking a Security Officer to monitor access points, verify IDs, and patrol terminal facilities. The role emphasizes strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work inside and outside in varying weather within a busy port-like environment.

This is an As Needed position covering 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts as well as weekends. Compensation is $20 per hour, with benefits including training, career development opportunities, and a DailyPay option for

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year security experience.

• Possible exposure to inclement weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor access points and guard terminals.
• Check identification for personnel and visitors.
• Monitor CCTV feeds for suspicious activity.
• Patrol terminal area regularly.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents.
• Document incidents and prepare follow-up reports.
• Assist terminal workers, drivers and visitors with information and directions.

Job Skills / Requirements

Security Officer Job Responsibilities:

• Monitoring Access Points: Guarding and controlling access to the terminal facility, including gates and entry points.
• Checking Identification: Verifying the credentials of personnel and visitors to ensure that only authorized individuals are allowed entry.
• Monitoring CCTV: Observing security camera feeds to detect and respond to suspicious activities.
• Patrolling: Conducting regular patrols around the terminal area to deter and detect any security breaches or unauthorized activities.
• Handling Emergencies: Responding to security incidents, emergencies, or breaches, such as fires, thefts, or accidents.
• Reporting: Documenting incidents and preparing detailed reports for follow-up actions.
• Assisting Personnel: Helping terminal workers, drivers, and visitors with information and directions while maintaining security protocols.

Pay: 20 /hour

Multiple Shift Availability Required

Security Officer Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 1 year security experience required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in high pedestrian traffic environments.
• Ability to work inside and outside of designated community, with possible exposure to inclement weather conditions.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• Active TWIC License
• Active NJ SORA Security License
• Minimum 1+ Year's Security Experience with Port Terminal Experience Preferred
