Stellar Cyber is seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer/Researcher to join its cybersecurity team in Oregon. You will design data schemas, develop threat detections, and translate security requirements into ML solutions for the Open XDR platform.

Ideal candidates hold an advanced degree in CS with ML focus and have hands-on experience in time series analysis, NLP, and production-ready Python. Join a fast-growing team shaping next-gen security analytics.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in CS with ML/NLP/AI focus.
• Proven experience as ML Engineer/Researcher, with time series, graph ML, NLP.
• Experience with ML tools and frameworks.
• Strong understanding of ML algorithms and deep neural networks.
• Strong problem solving and ability to translate research into practical solutions.
• Strong engineering mindset with quick design and production-ready Python solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred: cybersecurity knowledge and OSS data models (e.g., ECS/OCSF).

Responsibilities

• Review and design data schema and normalization for third-party security data integration.
• Translate detection use cases into ML problems and propose solutions.
• Research and design ML algorithms for security detection, correlation, and investigation.
• Design and implement product features for security detection, correlation, and investigation.
• Create processes, tools, metrics to monitor and evaluate detections released to customers.
