Job summary

ReNEW Schools in Merrillville, IN is seeking a school-year Security Monitor to help maintain a safe educational environment. The role is Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, with start and end times set by the Director of Security.

The wage range is $17.50 to $20.25 per hour. Candidates should have prior supervision or security experience in an educational setting and be able to walk the building, supervise students, and uphold all school policies.

Qualifications

• Follow school and Board policies; demonstrate responsibility.

• Perform other duties as assigned by building administration.

QUALIFICATION:

• Prior experience in supervision/security, preferably in an educational setting with a proven ability
• to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.
• Must be able to walk the building, supervise students, provide security and maintain a safe and appropriate educational atmosphere.
• Ability to perform duties with an awareness of all school and Board of Education rules and policies.
• Candidate must possess character and responsibility that model positive traits for students.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Walk and monitor school halls, cafeteria, monitor washroom facilities, monitor parking lots, and the school grounds in general.
• Work positively with the Corporation Director of Security and other district staff.
• Other duties assigned by building administration.
