Mid-Level Security Manager - Red LAN

Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO
Clearance: TS/SCI
Employment Type: Full-Time

This position is contingent upon contract award

Position Overview

We are seeking a Mid-Level Security Manager to support personnel, facility, and operational security for a high-sensitivity Red LAN IT environment at Schriever Space Force Base. The Security Manager will be responsible for maintaining a strong security posture across personnel access, facility operations, government property, and secure handling requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting Department of Defense or other high-security environments and will be comfortable coordinating compliance activities, managing security documentation, conducting audits, and driving corrective actions to closure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee personnel, facility, and operational security activities supporting a high-sensitivity IT environment.
  • Manage security requirements related to personnel clearances, access authorization, facility access, and secure handling procedures.
  • Maintain accurate security records and documentation related to personnel eligibility, access, training, and security requirements.
  • Coordinate facility accreditation readiness, ensuring required security controls, documentation, procedures, and physical safeguards are maintained.
  • Conduct and coordinate security compliance checks, inspections, and readiness drills to identify gaps and validate operational preparedness.
  • Monitor facility and operational security practices to ensure compliance with applicable DoD, Space Force, and program-specific security requirements.
  • Govern property identification and tagging, including implementation and oversight of Item Unique Identification (IUID) practices.
  • Maintain serialized inventory fidelity, ensuring accountable property is accurately identified, documented, tracked, and periodically reconciled.
  • Lead internal security and property accountability audits, documenting findings and developing corrective action plans.
  • Track corrective actions through resolution, ensuring deficiencies are appropriately documented, assigned, monitored, and closed.
  • Coordinate with government security personnel, facility personnel, IT teams, program leadership, and other stakeholders on security requirements and issues.
  • Support investigations and resolution of security discrepancies, access issues, property accountability concerns, and compliance deficiencies.
  • Develop, maintain, and update security policies, procedures, plans, checklists, and other program security documentation.
  • Prepare security status reports, inspection results, audit findings, and corrective action updates for program and government leadership.
  • Provide guidance and training to personnel regarding security procedures, access requirements, property accountability, and secure handling practices.
  • Identify emerging security risks and recommend improvements to strengthen the overall security posture of the environment.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting personnel, facility, industrial, physical, information, or operational security programs.
  • Must have and maintain an active DoD TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience managing security requirements within a DoD, government, classified, or high-sensitivity IT environment.
  • Experience with personnel security, access control, facility security, property accountability, and compliance activities.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, compliance reviews, or readiness assessments.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with the ability to manage multiple security requirements and corrective actions simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with government stakeholders, program leadership, technical personnel, and security organizations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting U.S. Space Force, U.S. Air Force, or Department of Defense programs.
  • Experience supporting security operations at a military installation or classified facility.
  • Familiarity with facility accreditation and authorization processes.
  • Experience with IUID, serialized asset management, government property accountability, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Experience developing and executing security readiness exercises or drills.
  • Experience leading internal audits and managing corrective action programs.
  • Familiarity with applicable DoD security policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Experience working with security classification, controlled access areas, classified systems, or other high-sensitivity IT environments.
  • Familiarity with security incident reporting, vulnerability assessments, risk management, and continuous compliance monitoring.

The individual should be comfortable leading compliance activities, coordinating with government and contractor personnel, identifying security gaps, and driving corrective actions to completion.
