Job summary

Applied Research Solutions seeks a full-time Security Manager located at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX to oversee program security for DoD/SCI environments. You will train personnel, manage JPAS, and coordinate with wing Security Office while maintaining assessment and authorization statuses.

Candidates must be a U.S. citizen with TS/SCI, a bachelor’s degree, and 2+ years in SCI/SAP environments; a background investigation is required.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Minimum 2+ years of experience supporting SCI and SAP environments.
• Ability to integrate with other organizations/teams and develop a highly effective working relationship with the customer.
• Experience working with a multi-level classified environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete training requirements IAW DoDM 5200.01, Volume 3, Enclosure 5 within 6 months of assuming duties.
• Train security assistants within 6 months of assuming duties. (T-0) The Wing Information Protection can assist with development of the training prior to execution.
• Ensure initial orientation and refresher training is conducted for all cleared and uncleared personnel IAW DoDM 5200.01, Volume 3, Enclosure 5.
• Notify Wing Information Protect Office of security incidents and coordinate actions.
• Notify the Wing Information Protection Office when areas/rooms are considered for open storage/secure room/vault or when new facility designs contain plans for these areas.
• Update assigned personnel accesses in JPAS. (T-1) Monitor and act on JPAS notifications.
• Use JPAS to in-process and out-process all unit personnel.
• Ensure all products, services and PIT have completed the appropriate evaluation and configuration processes prior to incorporation into or connection to an IS or PIT system.
• Maintain and report IS and PIT systems assessment and authorization status and issues in accordance with DoD Component guidance.
• Coordinate with the organization’s security manager to ensure issues affecting the organization's overall security are addressed appropriately.
• Assembles the security authorization package, consisting of the updated security plan, the SAR, and the POA&M.
• Continuously monitors the system or information environment for security relevant events and configuration changes that negatively affect security posture.
• Periodically assesses the quality of security controls implementation against performance indicators, such as: security incidents; feedback from external inspection agencies (e.g., OIG DoD, GAO); exercises; and operational evaluations, including Director, OT&E, assessments.
• Other duties as assigned.
