Job summary

Omni Hotels in Paradise Valley is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard guests, associates and hotel property, maintaining a safe and secure environment across all areas.

You will perform security rounds, monitor entrances, respond to incidents, enforce hotel policies with tact, document activities at shift end, and coordinate with the Security team to uphold high safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs security rounds of the hotel across all areas including restaurants, lobby, guest floors, convention center, and executive offices.
• Responds immediately to emergencies and security requests as assigned.
• Reports in writing on all activities during each shift before leaving the hotel; communicates emergencies per established procedures.
• Enforces hotel policies and procedures with courtesy, tact, and firmness.
• Checks associates leaving/entering the hotel; inspects parcels and verifies identifications of staff and visitors as needed.
• Monitors the security of receiving and service areas; notifies appropriate department heads of irregularities.
• Performs clerical duties for the Security Department under supervision, including filing, work orders, and posting information.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The objective of all positions is to effectively provide the services personally, or to immediately refer requests to the appropriate department manager. The following is a summary of the major responsibilities of the position.

Position: Security Officer

Department: Security

Purpose: To ensure that the hotel guest, associates, and hotel property are maintained in a safe and secure environment

Essential Functions

• Performs Security rounds of the hotel as follows:

• All restaurants
• All lobby areas and the Associates Entrance Garage
• Convention Center, Banquet level
• All guest floors
• Executive Offices
• Service levels. (back of the house areas)

• Visits all locations requiring special attention as frequently as required.

• Responds immediately to those emergency incidents and Security requests to which he is assigned.

• Ensures maximum guest, associates, and hotel safety and security at all times.

• Is courteous, tactful, and helpful, but firm in enforcing hotel policies and procedures.

• Reports in writing on all activities during each shift before leaving the hotel, with oral reports and emergency notifications delivered as directed by the established Security procedures.

• Performs duties as assigned by the Director of Security, Assistant Director of Security, Security Supervisor, and responds to directions from any Executive Committee member or Assistant Manager.

• Creates and maintains the highest standards of Security at all times, begin professional in attitude, appearance, and application.

• Checks associates leaving and entering the hotel at the beginning and end of shift, or at any time when an associate leaves the hotel. Collects all package passes and inspects parcels taken from the hotel.

• Monitors the Security of the receiving dock.

• Confiscates all unauthorized parcels etc., and notifies the Director of Security and the appropriate department head.

• Checks all I.D's of the hotel staff and provides information and direction upon proper identification of all job applicants, salesmen, etc. Notifies the department head involved for permission for non-staff personnel to enter the premises.

• Does not leave assigned station unless properly relieved as specified by the Director of Security. Performs all necessary clerical requirements of the Security Department under the supervision of the Director of Security. This includes filing, processing work orders, ordering supplies, maintaining necessary schedules, and posting bulletin board information.

• Protects hotel from admission of undesirables and others not conducting legitimate business within the premises.

• Telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine, computer and printer

file folders, filing cabinet, facsimile machine

• Lift jack dolly, hand truck, camera, first aid equipment

Working Environment

• Interior of hotel, in all areas with exposure to extreme temperatures.

• Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.

• Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.
