Job summary

1st Class Security in Mason City, IA is seeking a full-time Loss Prevention Officer to patrol, deter theft, and document incidents. You will use floor patrol and CCTV to identify shoplifters and write clear reports for review by supervisors.

The role requires reliable, punctual candidates with strong verbal and written communication skills. Pre-employment screening and training are provided, with benefits including health insurance and PTO.

Immediate Opening for a Fulltime Loss Prevention Officer in Mason City, IA

We are looking for a dedicated Loss Prevention Officer to join our team on a full‑time basis (40 hours per week) in Mason City, IA.

Job Overview

• Identify shoplifters through floor patrol and use of Closed Circuit Television.
• Write incident reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Cooperate with local law enforcement agencies as needed.
• Provide courtroom testimony when required.

Compensation and Benefits

• $22.00 per hour

Requirements

• Pre‑employment criminal background and drug screen.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 3–4 hours at a time.
• Reliable transportation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in writing clear, accurate, and legible reports.
• Assertive yet controlled in confronting challenging situations.
• Trustworthy and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Reliability: punctual attendance for scheduled shifts; tardiness and absenteeism not tolerated.
• Previous loss prevention experience is a plus but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum).
• Studies in Criminal Justice or related fields are a plus.
