We are currently looking for a security technician to join our team in Glen Burnie.
Technicians with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a lead technical role installing electronic security systems. Key focus on card access control, closed circuit video systems, intrusion systems, and any related transmission technologies (wireless, IP, copper, fiber, etc.)
Overview: Responsible for installing, terminating, programming, and optimizing the cabling, associated devices, computers, digital technology, and commercial off the shelf technologies as required by scope and design. May prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instruction or direction of engineer. Must be certified to configure, install, and program basic systems independently. Candidate should have either 6-12 month of apprenticeship/classroom study; and/or 2-4 years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Being able to attend, comprehend, and apply any direct factory training on related systems is mandatory.
Responsibilities
Installs appropriate technology; dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by job work package. Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Some technical school training desired. Experience: Six to twelve months apprenticeship class or room study and 2 to 4 years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Must provide own set of hand tools and light power tools.
Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
Must be able to acquire and maintain required industry licensing (CJIS, DCJS)
Ability to use multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and miscellaneous test equipment.
Must be able to travel and lodge on remote projects.
Skills:
Candidate must be able to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
Experience with some auto cad, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, MCSE or MCSA a plus. Candidate must have the ability to operate hand and power tools and should have his own tools as an installer. Candidate must have the ability to operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times. Candidate must have the ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.
