Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles seeks a Monitor II to ensure safety for clients, visitors and staff at the shelter. This on-site role mentors junior monitors and provides safety oversight, with driving tasks for licensed monitors preferred.

Annual pay is $19.92 to $20.97 per hour with medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. The role requires fingerprint clearance, background checks and a valid California license.

Qualifications

• One year in general security, social services or customer service.
• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background checks.
• California driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train Monitors in safety procedures and operations.
• Provide ongoing safety leadership and incident reporting.
• Monitor shelter entrance; screen bags and people entering shelter.
• Patrol premises to maintain security of doors, windows and exits.
• Assist driving tasks for licensed Monitors and maintain trip records.
