Job summary

Allied Universal® in Peoria, IL is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) to protect a utilities site. You will provide courteous customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors while following site policies and responding to emergencies when appropriate.

You will conduct regular patrols of buildings, access points, parking areas and perimeters, monitor access, log activity, and report hazards.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required per policy.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background investigation will be conducted.
• Drug screen may be required.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at a utility and industrial operations location while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, access points, parking areas, equipment storage areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate activity logs and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate observations promptly to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Report maintenance concerns, unusual conditions, and potential hazards observed during patrols in accordance with site-specific procedures.

Pay Rate: $17.75 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed: 02:30 PM - 10:30 PM
• Sun: 02:30 PM - 10:30 PM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
