As a Security Guard - Utilities Patrol Team in Oakland, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more.

What You’ll Do
  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the utility location and its perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a visible presence to deter potential issues and provide reassurance to employees and visitors.
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and promptly.
  • Follow all Allied Universal and client site policies and procedures while on duty.

Minimum Requirements
  • A minimum of one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • A minimum of one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
