Position Summary
A Security Officer's main function is to observe and report. The officer maintains a safe and secure environment for clients and employees. They detect suspicious activity, monitor the premises, and report all incidents in a timely fashion. Mulligan Security, the tri-state's leading private security organization, has immediate job opportunities for licensed Security Officers. We have full-time positions available; these positions require flexibility to work different shifts as well as weekends based on operational needs.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
- Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
- Prevent damage or injury by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; deter trespassers.
- Respond to alarms or calls of distress.
- Comply with all Post Orders for the site.
- Identify visitors and ask for appropriate documentation.
- Use radios, computers, and/or cell phones to stay in contact with security personnel.
- Call for police assistance if necessary.
- Share knowledge of site responsibilities with new employees.
- Regulate and monitor building systems.
- Operate screening machinery including X-ray machines, magnetometers, and wands.
- Maintain a professional disposition, helping customers, employees, visitors, and guests on the client’s property.
- Welcome customers, visitors, staff, tenants, guests in a professional and pleasant manner at all times.
- Become familiar with incoming and outgoing traffic, know the customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
- Maintain a visible presence during your shift.
- Observe the environment to prevent, detect, and report suspicious or unsafe activity.
- Monitor entrances and exits.
- Perform security patrols of designated areas.
- Learn and apply building policies and procedures.
- Follow emergency procedures.
- Investigate and report incidents, suspicious activities, and accidents.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Report to work on time in all weather conditions.
- Work outside for extended periods, including rain, snow, cold, and heat.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED.
- 18 years of age.
- Security Guard training and/or license (or willingness to obtain).
- Legal right to work in the U.S.
- Driver’s license (if required).
- State ID.
- Successful drug test and background check.
- Verifiable security experience (1-3 years depending on contract).

Schedule: Monday/Tuesday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday, 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM, 40 hours/week.
