Job summary

Allied Universal in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Security Officer - Part Time Enhanced to provide reliable security and customer service at a residential site. This flexible role offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts to boost earnings.

You will patrol, monitor access, report incidents, and maintain safety with a friendly, professional approach. Pay is $19.59 per hour with opportunities to increase hours through our Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Criminal histories considered per applicable laws.
• Drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements may be required.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security‑related procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity per site procedures, documenting observations and reporting concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and following escalation procedures.
• Prepare clear activity reports and communicate information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

As a Security Guard Residential Patrolin Los Angeles, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.59 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site‑specific procedures, documenting observations and reporting concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established escalation and notification procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity reports and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security‑related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
