Job Summary

Maintains a safe and secure environment for patients and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. EOE

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provide expertise in campus/staff/patient safety and security concerns
  • Maintain order within the facility and enforce hospital rules and regulations.
  • Suggest improvements to safety and security to the supervisor.
  • Ensure all doors are locked and areas are secured as required.
  • Check and report unauthorized vehicles or persons on campus.
  • Conduct security patrols throughout the campus.
  • Review video surveillance recordings as needed.
  • Use radio or telephone communication promptly and effectively with emergency agencies.
  • Utilize ECS radio system and telephone communication proficiently.
  • Report deficiencies and suggest changes to the Security Director.
  • Notify the Director about lighting issues.
  • Manning of the Security Booth
    • Monitor visitors entering and leaving via the Visitor App.
    • Oversee CCTV inside the booth.
  • Support and Assistance
    • Assist nursing supervisors during shifts.
    • Manage patient disturbances with nursing staff.
    • Assist police when called to campus.
    • Oversee parole officers' removal of patients for violations.
    • Manage belongings and keys for discharged patients.
    • Initiate searches of patients, units, or vehicles as needed.
  • Fire Drills and Reporting
    • Conduct fire drills as assigned and record results.
    • Report deficiencies to the Security Director.
  • Shift Summary
    • Send shift summaries via email to the designated mailing list.
    Qualifications

    Required:

    • One to three years of security experience.
    • High School diploma or GED.
    • Effective communication skills with patients and staff.
    • Ability to handle difficult situations and make sound decisions.
