Job summary

Pleasant View Skilled Nursing Community, part of Lutheran Life Communities, in Ottawa, IL, is seeking a Security Guard for overnight coverage to keep the campus safe and well-maintained.

The role is part-time, 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with on-call coverage and starting pay of $18.25/hour with credit for relevant experience. You will monitor security systems, respond to emergencies, and support nightly upkeep while building positive relationships with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Able to speak, read, and write legibly in English.
• Able to perform physical tasks including mopping, operating floor equipment, and lifting/moving trash.

Responsibilities

• Monitor building security systems and conduct regular rounds of the interior and exterior of the campus.
• Respond immediately to 911 calls, direct emergency personnel, and manage crowd control during incidents.
• Investigate and document incidents such as theft, criminal activity, or threatening behavior, and keep accurate logs and reports.
• Handle nightly environmental services tasks, including mopping, operating floor machines, and emptying trash.
• Complete basic maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Build positive relationships with residents, visitors, and team members through a professional, welcoming presence.

What You'll Do
