Job summary

Allied Universal in Livonia, MI is seeking a Part-Time Security Guard to protect clients across logistics and distribution sites. You will perform unarmed patrols, monitor access, provide customer service, and respond to incidents with calm, clear communication.

The role offers flexible scheduling with set shifts: Mon, Tue and Fri 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM. Prior X-ray screening, access control, or CPR/First Aid experience is preferred, and a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• X-Ray screening experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check as per law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing as required by state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and delivery drivers while following security procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of loading areas, trailer yards, and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor facility access, verify credentials for authorized personnel and visitors.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly and escalate when needed.
• Document patrols and incidents with clear, accurate reports.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and delivery drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of loading areas, trailer yards, parking areas, access points, and the business perimeter to help identify unusual conditions and help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the facility and verify credentials for authorized personnel, visitors, and drivers in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations through clear and accurate reports in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
