Job summary

Allied Universal in Birmingham, AL seeks a part-time, unarmed Security Officer Enhanced to provide reliable, friendly service at a technology and telecommunications site. The role offers flexible hours with anchor shifts and optional additional shifts through the Earn More program.

You will perform access control, respond to incidents, monitor logs, and maintain safe, compliant operations while upholding customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check per law will be conducted.
• Drug screening per law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors at a technology and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations calmly and in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization, and maintain logs and incident documentation.
• Observe and report unusual conditions, property concerns, and policy violations to Allied Universal leadership.

Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Compliance Patrol in Birmingham, AL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors at a technology and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and communicating relevant information to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
• Observe and report unusual conditions, property concerns, and policy violations to Allied Universal leadership and/or site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
