Job summary

Awaken Christian Academy is seeking a Security Guard to join our team in Las Vegas. This part-time, on-call role focuses on maintaining a safe, welcoming campus environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The guard will patrol, monitor access points, respond to incidents, and collaborate with leadership to uphold safety policies. Ideal candidates are calm, dependable, and capable of handling emergencies with discretion.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in security or related field preferred.
• Experience in a school, church, or public setting is a plus.
• Ability to remain calm, observant, and decisive under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Active or previous guard card preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Active CCW Permit preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Patrol interior and exterior areas of the campus during assigned shifts.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to ensure proper access and prevent unauthorized entry.
• Maintain communication with school leadership, administrative staff, and fellow security personnel.
• Respond quickly and appropriately to disturbances, suspicious activity, or emergencies.
• Assist with crowd control during events and school activities.
• Lock and unlock buildings and gates as scheduled.
• Submit incident reports and safety updates to the Security Director.
• Be familiar with and help enforce the safety policies and procedures of Awaken.

JOB POSITION SUMMARY

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
