Job summary

Armorous, an award-winning security company in the North Bay area, is hiring a Security Officer for a large corporate property in Oakland.

You will patrol, deter crime, control access, and respond to incidents while maintaining professionalism and a strong customer-service mindset.

Required BSIS Guard Card, valid driver's license, and ability to work graveyard shifts; compensation is $21/hour with weekly direct deposit and benefits.

Qualifications

• BSIS Guard Card (required) and compliance certificates (8-Hour Initial Training, 32-hour CE).
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience working graveyard shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine patrols to monitor and secure designated locations.
• Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and unauthorized access.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter crime and ensure public safety.
• Respond to incidents and provide support in emergencies.

Position/Titles:

• Security Officer for Large Corporate Property

Job Description:

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for safeguarding properties, deterring criminal activity, and ensuring the safety of businesses, construction sites, and residential communities, etc.
Your role requires vigilance, strong decision-making, and excellent communication skills to handle security incidents effectively. This site may experience occasional interaction with unhoused individuals who pass through or attempt to use facility amenities. There is also a known unhoused population in the surrounding area. These interactions are typically non-confrontational but require professionalism, awareness, and the ability to enforce site policies respectfully.

Officers should also be aware of environmental factors, including the occasional presence of loose animals in the area, and must use sound judgment to maintain personal safety.

This role includes conducting regular patrols, preventing unauthorized access, and ensuring all areas of the site remain secure at all times

Shifts:

Monday - 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
Tuesday - 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
+ opportunity for additional shifts

Compensation:

$21.00 per hour

Security Guard Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine patrols to monitor and secure designated locations.
• Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and unauthorized access.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter criminal activity and ensure public safety.
• Respond swiftly to incidents and provide support in emergency situations.
• Document daily activity, incidents, and observations accurately in reports.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding security updates and concerns.

Security Guard Qualifications:

• Valid BSIS Guard Card (required).
• Current with BSIS Compliance
  • i.e: 8-Hour Initial Training Certificate
  • 32-hour continuing education certificates
• Valid Drivers License
• Clean driving record and ability to operate company/site vehicles safely.
• Experience working graveyard shifts.
• Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to remain alert, responsive, and proactive in high-pressure situations.
