Job summary

Starling is seeking a dependable overnight security professional to maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment on campus. You will conduct regular patrols, monitor access points, respond to incidents, and communicate clearly with team members and leadership.

The ideal candidate remains calm under pressure, follows established procedures, and answers after-hours calls via Emergency Alert System or phone.

Qualifications

• Dependable and professional behavior, especially during overnight hours.

• Responsive to after-hours calls via Emergency Alert System and/or phone.

Responsibilities

• Patrol premises to secure property and personnel.
• Monitor surveillance equipment and access points; inspect buildings and entrances.
• Permit entry where appropriate and inspect for security gaps.
• Prevent losses by reporting irregularities and restraining trespassers; summon 911 if needed.
• Answer calls for assistance from Residents and visitors after hours.
• Secure exits, doors and windows after operations across campus buildings.
• Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts.
• Investigate people or possessions for suspicious activity.
• Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers; summoning assistance from 911 if necessary.
• Answering calls for assistance from Residents and visitors.
• Secure all exits, doors and windows after end of operations in all campus buildings.
• Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
• Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions
• Other duties as assigned.
