Job summary

Cheney Brothers, Inc. is seeking a Security Guard in Punta Gorda, FL to monitor entry/exit, deter theft, and maintain premises security.

You will write incident reports, respond to emergencies, patrol, and assist visitors while preserving order and protecting property. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent and at least 6 months of security experience, with flexibility for overtime and ability to work in hot, cold, and rainy conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must have at least 6+ months security guard or relevant experience.
• Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position.
• Able to work in multi-temperature environments, i.e. hot, cold and rain.
• Able to stand, walk, reach and lift repeatedly throughout shift.

• Circulates among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Patrols premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Answers telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed.
• Warns persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary
