Qualifications

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as required by federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and others at a government healthcare location while following site-specific security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, entrances, public areas, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity per site procedures and report unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and emergencies calmly and professionally following post orders and escalation procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain documentation on patrols, incidents, and security activities.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.


• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, entrances, public areas, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.


• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and potential security‑related issues to appropriate personnel.


• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.


• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation regarding patrols, incidents, and other security‑related activities.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
