Job summary

Wilson Elser in California is seeking a Security Guard Litigation – Associate Attorney to join a national coordinating counsel team. The role blends general liability, premises, and hospital security experience in a collaborative, hybrid environment, with a path toward growth within a large national firm.

The successful candidate will manage litigation from intake to resolution, draft pleadings, attend hearings, and communicate with clients while balancing a busy caseload across offices.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in California.
• 4+ years of civil defense experience, incl. premises liability and general liability.
• Premises and hospital security experience is a plus.
• Superior analytical skills and strong written/oral communication.
• Legal project management experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments and offices to support a cohesive team.
• Independently manage a litigation caseload from start to finish and report status to clients.

The Position

This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys with general liability, premises and hospital security, and/or catastrophic loss experience who are looking to develop in their careers by joining a dynamic national coordinating counsel team. This is a unique opportunity to develop a close relationship with one of our national clients.

• Independently manage a litigation caseload as part of a team, working cases from beginning to end
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports

Wilson Elser offers a competitive salary and benefits package designed to support our attorneys both professionally and personally. A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

Salary Range:: $160,000 USD - $210,000 USD
