Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced to join our Newport, RI team. This flexible role provides reliable hours and the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

Responsibilities include customer service to patients, visitors, staff and vendors; patrolling, access control, incident reporting, and calm response to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background investigation and drug screen as required by law and policy.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.

• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and report anomalies.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor directions and security procedures.

As a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Security Assistance in Newport, RI, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.22 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including situations involving patient care areas, visitors, and hospital operations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor directions, access control procedures, and reporting of unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, observations, and required activity reports in accordance with site-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
