Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Loss Prevention in Newport, RI. This role offers reliable base hours with optional extra shifts to boost earnings, at a pay rate of $21.22 per hour.

The day schedule runs 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM with anchor shifts for six months, plus pick-up shifts across sites via the scheduling platform.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screen may be required.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies calmly following site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of hospital facilities and perimeters.
• Monitor access points, assist with visitor management and badge verification.
• Document incidents and communicate information to relevant personnel.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Loss Prevention in Newport, RI, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.22 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of hospital buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, badge verification, and directions while maintaining a welcoming presence.
• Document incidents, observations, and security-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
