Allied Universal is seeking a full-time Security Guard (Unarmed) in San Jose, CA to protect client sites across tech/media sectors. You will monitor access points, perform routine patrols, and provide professional customer service while upholding site policies and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility interior, exterior, perimeter, parking areas, and access points.
• Monitor access control systems, visitor activity, and entry points; verify credentials and maintain documentation.
• Communicate with site personnel, visitors, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership per post orders.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology and data infrastructure location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating issues according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility interior, exterior, perimeter, parking areas, and access points to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access control systems, visitor activity, and entry points; verify credentials and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
• Communicate clearly with site personnel, visitors, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership while following established post orders and reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
