Ensure a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff while demonstrating the highest level of customer service, aligned with the Montereau mission, vision, and values.
Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities
- Conduct foot patrols of all buildings to ensure security, verify doors are locked or unlocked as needed, set lighting correctly, and ensure buildings are free from unauthorized persons or issues threatening safety.
- Perform mobile patrols of the grounds to maintain safety and prevent intrusions.
- Monitor emergency calls from systems, residents, nurse stations, and alarms; respond appropriately, assess situations, and notify external responders like EMS, fire, or police.
- Provide relief for IL and HC concierge, manage incoming calls after hours, conduct wellness checks, and handle requests for property access or lock-outs courteously and promptly.
- Manage parking, traffic flow, and enforce regulations to ensure safety for all.
- Monitor surveillance systems, complete security and incident reports, and ensure proper documentation of issues; file police reports as necessary.
- Deliver various resident and visitor services, including mail, packages, flowers, newspapers, meals, and assistance with vehicles, as requested.
- Assist with snow removal and salting to keep walkways safe.
- Maintain the security vehicle’s cleanliness and report any damages or maintenance needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies
- Proficiency with alarm monitoring systems, fire panels, and SARA systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Education and Experience
- At least 3 years of security-related experience preferred.
- Experience in law enforcement or healthcare first response preferred.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- CLEET license required (or obtained within 90 days).
- CPR and First Aid certifications required (or obtained within 90 days).
- First Responder certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Extensive standing, walking, kneeling, bending; some sitting and reaching.
- Ability to lift and push up to 25 pounds routinely.
