Job summary

Allied Universal, North America's leading security and facility services company, is hiring a part-time Security Officer in Jacksonville, FL. The role offers flexible hours with fixed shifts and opportunities to pick up additional shifts through the scheduling platform.

You will provide customer service, monitor access points, conduct patrols, and respond to incidents while maintaining site security policies. A background check and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• X-ray screening experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Ages 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screen required by policy.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and personnel at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Monitor access points, check credentials, and document visitor, driver, and delivery activity per site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, parking areas, entry points, trailers, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and complete required reports.
• Observe and report unusual activity, hazards, damaged property, and policy violations while maintaining professional communication with site contacts.

As a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Patrol Screening in Jacksonville, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and personnel at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points, check credentials as required, and document visitor, driver, and delivery activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, parking areas, entry points, trailers, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and completing required reports.
• Observe and report unusual activity, hazards, damaged property, and policy violations while maintaining professional communication with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
