• Respond to incidents and emergencies in a calm, professional manner and notify campus personnel as needed.
• Observe activity at the entrance and lobby area, report unusual conditions and deter unauthorized access.
• Maintain clear reports and communicate security information to leadership.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Visitor Registration in Jacksonville, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.70 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 08:00 AM - 01:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, access‑control policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor the front desk, greet and direct visitors, verify credentials as required, and maintain visitor logs and/or access records in accordance with location procedures.
• Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Observe activity at the assigned entrance and surrounding lobby area, report unusual conditions or policy concerns, and help to deter unauthorized access.
• Maintain clear, accurate reports and communicate relevant security‑related information to Allied Universal leadership and designated location contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a CPO certification.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Have at least four years of military or law enforcement experience or a criminal justice degree.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
