Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced to support our hospital locations. This role provides frontline security, patient and visitor assistance, and incident response within a clinical environment.

You will work a fixed, anchor shift with the option to claim additional shifts through the scheduling platform. The position offers meaningful part-time hours and opportunities for growth within the industry leader.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigations will be conducted as per laws.
• Drug screening will be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by following security-related procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular foot and/or vehicle patrols of hospital facilities and parking areas to identify hazards or access concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly and according to location protocols.
• Monitor entry points and assist with directions, wayfinding, and adherence to procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and actions per reporting requirements.

• Sun: 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or access concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established healthcare location protocols.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor directions, wayfinding, and adherence to site‑specific entry procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and actions taken in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
