Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Access Control in Mount Vernon, IL to manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, and welcome employees, visitors, and contractors. You will maintain a visible presence to deter incidents and report security concerns.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures and security‑related policies.
• Monitor and manage entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access logs.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of automotive manufacturing and business areas, parking locations, and the perimeter, reporting unusual conditions or access‑control concerns.
• Help to deter unauthorized access by observing vehicle, pedestrian, and contractor traffic and escalating concerns according to site procedures.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
