Job summary

Allied Universal in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a Security Guard Armed Driver Patrol. The role involves patrolling the campus, monitoring access points, and providing exceptional customer service while deterring security incidents.

You will drive on site, respond to incidents, complete clear reports, and work a full-time evening schedule. A valid driver’s license and armed security credentials are required, along with background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license required per Allied Universal policy.
• At least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Armed Guard Card or license.
• 40 caliber endorsement.
• California Weapons Permit with 9mm endorsement.
• Must be 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required by law.
• Industry-specific security training required.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required only for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the technology-focused campus, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and report irregularities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, solution-oriented manner and contact appropriate personnel or emergency responders as directed.
• Prepare clear, accurate patrol, incident, and security-related activity reports.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the technology-focused campus, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and report irregularities or policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card or license.
• Possess a 40 caliber endorsement.
• Possess a California Weapons Permit with a 9mm caliber endorsement.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
