Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer in Bloomington, IL to patrol a government site, deter threats, and provide professional visitor and employee support. You will perform routine patrols, monitor access, and respond to incidents with a calm, customer-oriented approach.

The role requires an armed guard card/license, a minimum of one year in security, and the ability to work a night shift schedule. Allied Universal offers training, benefits, and a people-first culture.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and emergency services as required.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as directed, and document visitor activity, incidents, observations, and patrol findings in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain readiness of assigned equipment and complete required reports, logs, and communications while following applicable laws, regulations, and Allied Universal policies.
