Job Summary

The Academy Charter School Security Guard protects school property and insures the safety of pupils and staff by providing adult supervision inside and outside of the school.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Patrol hallways, main entrances and recreation areas and occasionally provide supervision as needed.
• Provide supervision for bus areas during arrival and dismissal times.
• Check perimeter to ensure no unauthorized access into the school, that doors are locked, and to become aware of any potentially harmful activity occurring.
• Check the functioning of the security system.
• Check first‑floor restrooms.
• Provide direction to visitors at the main entrance; check that visitors have signed in.
• Control building access and respond to alarms.
• Alert administrators of problems arising from congestion or other sources.
• Be responsible for the safety and welfare of all students during admission and dismissal.
• Interact with students, parents and colleagues in a professional, positive and inspiring manner.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Pay and Salary

$18.00/hr. – $21.50/hr.
