We provide a corporate culture that values teamwork, a strong work ethic, service to others, and personal balance.SUMMARY: The Security Officer is responsible for performing protection and enforcement functions in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances, and threats to life and property to maintain a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors and ensure the safety of company/customer assets.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Identifies situations where security violations have occurred and takes reasonable and prudent action to ensure the safety of employees, visitors, and company/customer assetsPerforms scheduled and random inspection of physical premises to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions; observes, cautions, instructs, corrects, investigates, and reports persons or incidents involving suspected break-ins, tampering, vandalism, thefts, or property damageMaintains watch at company gates and access controlled points; admits or denies access as directed by company management or security supervision; issues temporary badges and identification and provides directions as neededProvides immediate response to all emergency situations including but not limited to structural and brush fires, medical emergencies, confined space rescue, undesirable conduct, violations of company policies or civil laws, and hazardous material incidents; assists until proper authorities arriveMonitors property being removed from restricted buildings or company premises to ensure proper authorizationMonitors security and fire protection systems and equipment; tests, documents, and makes recommendations relative to premises security and fire suppression systems to ensure system and equipment readinessDocuments and reports any irregularity, incident, or emergency actions concerning safety and securityChecks packages and identification; questions and/or detains unauthorized persons without proper ID or those found in restricted areasInterfaces with local law enforcement and security agencies as situations requirePerforms basic Maintenance/Housekeeping duties such as clogged toilets, running linen, HVAC issues, etc.Assists with Front Desk breaks.Performs other related duties as assigned by managementQUALIFICATIONS:General knowledge of security procedures/methods and fire safetyPatrolling and report writing experience preferredExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skillsAbility to manage priorities and workflowVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasmAbility to work independently and as a member of various teams and committeesStrong interpersonal skillsGood judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisionsAbility to understand and follow written and verbal instructionsBilingual skills a plusAbility to understand any and all safety requirements and cautionsProfessional appearance and demeanorDemonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergenciesAbility to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgroundsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalentOne to two years related experience or equivalentCPR and First Aid Training preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:Continually required to stand, walk, and utilize hand and finger dexterityOccasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawlFrequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboardOccasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 25 poundsOccasionally exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat or cold or outside weather conditionsOccasionally exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materialsSALARY:HOURS:BENEFITS:Medical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceCompany paid Basic Life and AD&D Insurance401(k) with Company matchPaid Time Off and State required Sick Pay8 Paid HolidaysHotel discounts by brandVoluntary Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
