Job summary

Smitty's-Supply,-Inc is seeking a Security Guard to protect personnel, equipment, and property across multiple locations. The role involves maintaining relationships with local emergency services, delivering daily safety briefs, and monitoring site access and vehicle movements.

Responsibilities include logging shifts, providing weather updates, and reporting incidents to the EHS Manager. The position requires vigilance, basic paperwork, and the ability to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Maintains routine professional relationship with local fire, AMR, and law enforcement entities.
• Provides daily safety briefs at the beginning of each shift.
• Monitors tanker and van departures and maintains terminal log; logs hourly and end of shift.
• Maintains radio contact to respond to emergencies and directs others as needed.
• Provides weather alerts/updates during severe weather via radio to teams.
• Reports incidents to EHS Manager for hazardous releases.
• Coordinates routine patrols at offsite locations and logs checks.
• Audits key issue log and fuel log at shift changes.
• Ensures security checkpoints are walked and documented.
• Conducts daily pre and post maintenance checks on security vehicles.

Job description

Security Guard is tasked to safeguard employees, equipment, and property against criminal and otherwise negligent activity.

Position Responsibilities

1. Maintains routine professional relationship and contact with local fire, AMR, and law enforcement entities.


2. Provides daily safety briefs at the beginning of each shift.


3. Monitors and manages tanker and van departures and ensures terminal log is up to date; audits log every hour and at the end of each shift.


4. Maintains constant radio contact on security channel to respond to emergency notifications and distress calls from plant.


5. Monitors weather and provides weather alerts/updates during severe weather events via radio alerts to Production, Blending, Shipping and Receiving channels.


6. Monitor and provide incident reports on hazardous and non-hazardous spills/releases to EHS Manager.


7. Schedules routine patrols at offsite locations: 1-CMS Aerosol Plant, 2-Stake Plant, 3-Car Museum, 4-Rail Spur


8. Audits key issue log and fuel log at beginning and end of each shift.


9. Ensures security checkpoints are walked and checked each shift and documented.


10. Ensures daily pre and post preventive maintenance checks are conducted on security vehicles.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum age of 18.

   10. Must be able to identify and report violations and unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel.
   
   
   11. Must be able to wear protective clothing when needed as well as uniform.
   
   
   12. Must be able to effectively respond in an Emergency Situation such as Fire, and Accident and direct the activities of others.
   
   
   13. Must be able to follow all Department Procedures and Directives.
   
   
   14. Must be able to complete First Aid / AED Training
   
   
   15. Must be able to perform SPCC / SWPPP duties.
   
   
   16. Must be able to perform the duties of a fire brigade / Emergency team member.
