Job summary

Securitas US Business Unit is hiring a Security Guard for a full-time, on-site shift in Portland, OR. You will patrol, monitor systems, control access, and respond to emergencies to protect people, property and assets.

No prior experience is required, and benefits include comprehensive coverage, paid training, and weekly pay. A valid driver’s license and attentive, customer-service oriented mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently and stay vigilant.

Responsibilities

• Regular patrols of premises to identify security risks.
• Monitor CCTV, alarm systems and security equipment.
• Control access by verifying IDs and managing visitor logs.
• Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies.
• Enforce security protocols and company rules for all on-site personnel and visitors.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 10am-6pm

The Security Officer protects people, property, and assets by patrolling premises, monitoring systems, controlling access, and responding to emergencies to maintain a safe and secure environment. Objectives

• Ensure the safety and security of personnel, property, and company assets.
• Maintain a secure environment that protects employees, customers, and visitors from harm.
• Help prevent theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, and other security threats.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and security incidents to minimize risk and damage.
• Uphold company policies, safety regulations, and legal compliance standards.
• Provide visible deterrence against criminal activity and suspicious behavior.
• Support organizational operations by creating a safe and secure workplace.
• Protect sensitive information and intellectual property from unauthorized access.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Perform access control at security entrances / exits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of premises including buildings, parking lots, & entry points to identify potential security risks.
• Monitor and operate surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and security equipment.
• Control building access by verifying identification, checking credentials, and managing visitor logs.
• Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and security incidents.
• Enforce security protocols, company rules, and regulations for premises, personnel, and visitors.
• Inspect doors, windows, gates, and security equipment to prevent unauthorized access.
• Investigate suspicious activities, behavior, and security breaches.

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and clear driving record required.
• Above average computer / technology skills needed.
• Prior Security, Law Enforcement or Military experience a plus!!
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must have the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgement and use appropriate escalation.
• Must have strong observational skills, excellent communication abilities, and quick decision-making capabilities.
