Job summary

Christian Care Ministry, Inc. in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Security Guard to patrol and monitor facilities, deter disturbances, and support the ministry’s mission. The role requires a 40-hour security certification and a High School Diploma with relevant armed-guard experience.

The position is full-time and onsite in our Melbourne office. The role involves incident response, surveillance, and strong customer-service skills while upholding Christian values and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years’ previous armed guard experience.
• Security Guard Certification (40-hour course) required.
• Law enforcement or military experience preferred.
• First responder and/or armed transport experience preferred.
• CPR/AED, Stop the Bleed, EMT, and other medical training encouraged.
• Supplementary security guard training, NIMS, POST certifications.
• Florida-specific licenses: D and G license requirements; yearly re-qualifications for firearms.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License (FDL) and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle and checks for hazards, unlocked doors, and security violations.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and staff.
• Investigates disturbances and responds to alarms and calls for assistance.
• Responds to complex or serious emergency situations and may use deadly force.
• Assist Human Resources with employee terminations.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and review footage as directed.
• Escort employees to parking areas after dark.
• Prepare logs and reports and support CCM mission and beliefs.

Job description

The range for this role is $17.31 to $22.36 per hour

Actual base pay will be determined based on a successful candidate's work location, skills/abilities, experience, and education.

Interested applicants must be willing and able to work onsite full time in our Melbourne, FL office.

The Job

Responsible to guard, patrol, and monitor premises to deter disturbances and to facilitate the general security operation of the site. Work closely with the entire CCM leadership team to support the overall mission of the Ministry and impact the Kingdom of God. In order to accomplish their work properly, the Security Guard must be very well organized and have excellent interpersonal skills and motivational competencies.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees while providing general security duties to our staff and visitors.
• Investigates disturbances and responds to alarms and other calls for assistance.
• May have to respond to complex or serious emergency situations (active shooter, political unrest/protests, bomb threats, hostile employee, suicidal person, medical, etc.) and may be required to use deadly force.
• Assist Human Resources with employee terminations.
• Regularly monitor surveillance cameras and review footage when required/as directed.
• Investigate illegal or suspicious activities.
• Display exceptional customer service and communication skills while greeting and checking in staff and guests.
• Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehends or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
• Escort employees to parking area after dark.
• Prepares logs and reports as required.

Education And/or Experience
