Job summary

Signal Brand: Signal of Kansas City is seeking a dedicated security guard for a Lawrence, KS assignment. The role includes 3rd shift/overnight duties from 08:00pm to 04:00am with weekend availability required.

You will conduct inside and vehicle patrols, write precise reports, and ensure safety and property protection across the site. Requirements include obtaining a security license within 10 days, a valid driver’s license, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Must obtain a security license within 10 days of hire date.
• VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE REQUIRED.
• Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
• Able to perform a foot patrol in a Walmart store and operate a company vehicle as needed.
• Clean driving record and safe driving ability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct dedicated security patrols and reporting per site orders.
• Write detailed reports using company software during each shift.
• Arrive on time, clock in/out, follow dress code and post instructions.
• Interact with clients and customers to maintain a professional service.
• Report unusual or liability-related activity to supervisors.
• Care for and responsibly use assigned Signal equipment and vehicles.
• Deescalate issues professionally and promptly.
• Meet daily benchmarks and communicate needs to the Branch Supervisor.

Post Location: Lawrence, KS 66046

Schedule: Full time and Part time (WEEKEND AVAILABILITY REQUIRED)

Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Shift/s: 3rd shift / Overnight (08:00pm - 04:00am) [Flexibility preferred]

(Detailed shift start and end time will be discussed during the in-person/Zoom interview)

Requirements:

• Needs to obtain a security license within 10 days of the hire date.
• VALID DRIVER\'S LICENSE REQUIRED
• Ability to read, speak, and write in English
• Must be interested in and able to work a foot patrol post requiring walking for at least half of the shift as an inside guard in a Walmart store.
• Must have a clean driving record and be able to drive and operate a company vehicle safely as driving half of the shift is required.
• Applicant must have good customer service skills and the ability to interact and communicate proactively with associates and customers.
• Must be observant and able to report any activity that could be described as unusual, criminal or liability related.

Dedicated officers must be ALERT, engaged, and proactive. Officers must be able to conduct a variety of vehicle AND foot patrols, complete checkpoint reports including explanations of observations and photos, respond to dispatch calls, interact with activity and individuals on property and monitor actively for unusual activity on site.

Patrol officers must be able to hit 30-50 stops a night and have good time management skills. Patrol officers must be ALERT, engaged, and proactive. Officers must be able to conduct a variety of vehicle AND foot patrols, complete 30-50+ reports including explanations of observations and photos, respond to dispatch calls, interact with activity and individuals on property and monitor actively for unusual activity on multiple sites.

Position Summary:

A Signal Dedicated Guard will conduct static security services for courtyards, offices, pools, and other high value areas to ensure all required access points are properly secured and to ensure protection of property and residents with a high degree of attentiveness to details and safety.All duties listed below are minimum requirements – additional duties listed in the site’s Post Orders are requirements as well.

Responsibilities:

• Will conduct and deliver various dedicated services that reflect the company’s values, expectations, and consistent service in alignment with site specific instructions/post orders.
• Will write detailed and accurate reports utilizing company technology and web or app-based software during each shift that align with site instruction/post orders.
• The Ability to consistently arrive on time for shifts, clock in and out, meet time commitments, follow instruction, follow dress code and appearance standards and expectations
• Interacting with internal and external customers on site cultivating a customer service relationship while striving to provide peace of mind.
• Consistently communicates with the Advanced Dedicated Guard or the Dedicated Branch Supervisor to promptly report any customer or property related information and concerns.
• Responsible for the care of any Signal equipment assigned during shift including radios, access keys/cards, vehicles, and devices, etc.
• Consistently deescalate issues through communication in a professional and prompt manner.
• Manage daily activities while meeting key benchmarks and expectations set by the Dedicated Branch Supervisor such as reporting standards and service quality.
• Communicate with the Dedicated Branch Supervisor to receive and disseminate information through Branch Supervisor Daily Scrum, such as the client needs and post order changes to ensure operational excellence and efficiency.

Requirements:

• 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED
• Pass background check and drug test
• Must have reliable transportation
• Complete training modules within first month
• Excellent organization, oral, and written communication skills
• Demonstrate a commitment to service, organization values and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor at all times
• Must be able to move equipment weighing up to 20 pounds
