Part of a nationwide family of Continuing Care Retirement Communities, Covenant Living is seeking a Security Guard. This position is responsible for the security of the campus, all campus vehicles, residents, and staff. Security responsibilities include patrolling the buildings and grounds and responding to all emergencies on the campus during the security shift.

In this role, the Security Guard will:
  1. Respond to emergency call systems.
  2. Evaluate the need to notify on-call personnel and follow designated procedures.
  3. Call 911 in emergencies and coordinate with emergency responders.
  4. Perform scheduled patrols and secure all security equipment.
  5. Secure all exterior doors in the buildings.
  6. Challenge trespassers on campus property.
  7. Monitor vehicle traffic and enforce traffic policies.
  8. Familiarize with the campus layout, equipment, and emergency systems.
  9. Know utility shut-off locations and fire detector panels, and understand their procedures.
  10. Write and distribute incident reports.
  11. Report safety hazards and submit maintenance requests via WorxHub.
  12. Provide emergency maintenance or housekeeping services if needed.
  13. Assist with non-emergency residential services that do not conflict with security duties.
The ideal candidate will have:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. At least two years of security or related experience.
  3. A valid state driver’s license (CDL preferred) and a good driving record.
  4. First aid certification and experience in emergency medical situations.
  5. Proficiency in reading and writing in English, with good communication skills.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills, friendly demeanor, and customer service orientation, especially with elderly residents.
  7. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  8. Good observational skills.
  9. Flexibility and adaptability to changing conditions.
  10. For California candidates, a valid and current California Security License is required.

Compensation Pay Range: $16.35 - $18.83
