Base pay range

$21.00/hr - $23.00/hr

Boka Restaurant Group, in partnership with The Hoxton Chicago, is currently seeking a Security Guard who will oversee Cira, Cabra, and Lazy Bird!

• Part-Time position available!***
• Three shifts a week total, including late nights; schedule may vary including weekends and holidays.***
  
  

General Description: As security for Cira/Lazy Bird/Cabra, your main responsibility is to ensure the safety and protection of the hotel, the employees, and its guests while upholding high standards of hospitality.

About The Hoxton Chicago: The Hoxton, Chicago is in the heart of Fulton Market District, one of Chicago's most creative neighbourhoods. The hotel houses three distanct BRG venues: Cira, a Mediterranean-inspired all-day restaurant located off the main lobby; Cabra, a Peruvian-inspired rooftop restaurant; and Lazy-Bird, a swanky speakeasy located on the lower level.

Security Guard's Responsibilities:

• Ensuring safety of all guests and employees within the restaurant, bar, and hotel premises.
• Work side by side with security personnel in an active role of security throughout the hotel.
• Handling security issues and/or emergency situations appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Reporting safety concerns and unusual circumstances to management.
• Maintain open lines of communication with all management to address any issues or concerns as they arise.
• Participating in property meetings as scheduled to address any issues.
• Assisting with various BRG special events as assigned by the management team.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 2 years experience in a similar role preferred
• Emotional intelligence and good character judgment
• Ability to assess your own behavior, while also paying attention to employees, patrons and visitors
• Listening skills
• Willingness to learn and enforce safety procedures
• Comfort with directing people or taking up leadership responsibilities
• Attention to detail
  
  

This is an ideal position for someone who is dedicated to providing great service and is seeking to become a member of a hard-working and fun team!

Physical Requirements:

• Lift and move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Safely and effectively use all necessary tools, equipment, and cleaning chemicals
• Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant which may include stairs, uneven, and/or slick surfaces
• Ability to bear exposure to hot and cold environments
