Job summary

Excelsior Defense, Inc. is now hiring professional Unarmed Security Officers for our open positions at a VA location in Albuquerque. The role offers a base wage of $16.20 per hour plus an additional $4.57 per hour that is distributed through a 401(a) savings account or can be used toward medical insurance.

We have FT swing shifts (1500-2300, Wed-Sun) and veterans or retirees are encouraged to apply. Must hold a valid NM unarmed security guard license and pass background, fingerprinting and drug

Qualifications

• Experience as a security guard or relevant position.
• Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
• Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
• Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
• Integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Protect company's property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
• Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
• Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property
• Apprehend criminals and evict violators
• Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences
• Report in detail any suspicious incidents
• Patrol randomly or regularly building and perimeter
• Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates
• Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment
• Perform first aid or CPR

As an employee for a federal contract, officers are paid a base wage of $16.20 per hour and ALSO make an ADDITIONAL $4.57 per hour that is disburse through a 401(a) savings account or can be disburse towards medical insurance.

Must complete background check, finger printing and drug screening in order to gain employment on a federal site. (This is done by Excelsior Defense once selected for employment.)

Upon offer of employment, you will be required to submit a drug screening, along with a background run.
