ModCorr offers rapid, efficient delivery and setup of minimum to maximum security correctional facilities and specialty units. All products are constructed offsite in a controlled environment and conform to the same building codes as traditional construction. ModCorr’s safe, secure and high-quality units comply with all American Correctional Association (ACA) and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

We are seeking a skilled Glazier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing security glass in various structures, including commercial and detention hollow metal windows and doors, and occasionally commercial storefronts. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work with precision in a variety of environments. The Glazier will also collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to high standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with the Glass and Glazing manager about job conditions, needs, etc.
  • Assist in the installation of security glass in detention and commercial hollow metal windows, doors, and other structures according to specifications.
  • Repair or replace broken glass in existing installations.
  • Apply caulking and sealants to ensure airtight and watertight installations.
  • Fabricate and build frames for glass installations as needed.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction projects.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Teach and educate crew on techniques and methods to help them become more proficient at their duties and responsibilities.

Knowledge And Skills Required

  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to read and understand plans and specifications
  • Can teach and lead a crew of less skilled and educated members
  • Strong skills in caulking and sealing applications.
  • General maintenance person skills for various repair tasks.
  • Ability to fabricate and build custom solutions as required.
  • Familiarity with hand tools used in glass installation and repair.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

  • This job requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required such as walking, standing, stooping, and climbing.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday (8 hours)
  • Overtime and weekends as needed

Experience

  • Lead Glazier: minimum 3-5 years (Required)

Language

  • English (Required, Spanish is a plus)

License/Certifications/Legal Requirements

  • Driver's License: Clean driving record required, no DUI’s
  • Clean criminal history (no felonies)
  • Must be able to pass regular drug screenings
  • OSHA 30 preferred, OSHA 10 required

Travel

  • Travel will be required at times. Frequency and length will vary. Per diem and company vehicle will be provided.
