Job summary

AbbVie Information Security is seeking a highly motivated Site Reliability Engineer to join our Cyber Security Engineering Team. In a hybrid on-premise and cloud-native environment, you will help ensure production systems used by our Security Teams operate smoothly and reliably, collaborating with developers and subject matter experts to automate tasks and reduce toil.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 6 years experience; or Masters with 5 years; or PhD.
• Foundational knowledge of Cloud Platform administration (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Bamboo, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
• Familiarity with Docker workloads and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Amazon ECS).
• Foundational understanding of observability tools and pillars (metrics, logs, tracing).
• Comfortable in Linux and Windows environments; knowledge of Agile/DevOps.
• Security-first mindset; independent and collaborative work capability.

Responsibilities

• System Architecture Support: Maintain and improve systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• CI/CD Pipeline Maintenance: Build, implement, and iterate CI/CD pipelines.
• Microservices Deployment: Manage deployment of microservices and containerized apps.
• Security Implementation: Apply strong security controls across distributed systems.
• Deployment Automation: Automate configurations and deployments across platforms.
• Observability Management: Write automation scripts and standardize alerts.
• Incident Response: Contribute to post-mortems and root-cause analysis.
• DevOps Promotion: Support Agile/Scrum and promote DevOps within the team.
• Hybrid Cloud Support: Maintain hybrid cloud and containerization services.
• Toolset Operations: Learn toolsets and suggest day-to-day improvements.
