Read AI is hiring a Security & IT Systems Engineer to own IT and security operations, including onboarding and offboarding, Google Workspace, and HRIS integrations.

You will transform IT into scalable, automated systems and share security duties with our security team, while delivering tooling initiatives with the Staff Security Engineer as a partner. This role supports a hybrid schedule in Seattle and requires hands-on IT leadership.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in IT operations, systems administration, or a similar hands-on role.
• Hands-on experience administering an MDM platform (FleetDM, Jamf, Kandji, Intune) and managing macOS fleets at scale.
• Practical identity administration: Google Workspace or Okta, group-based access, and SSO/SAML/SCIM integrations.
• Automation experience: written scripts or services in Python, Go, TypeScript.
• Familiarity with AWS and cloud access models.
• Strong service instincts: patient with interruptions, clear in writing, and organized to protect project time.
• Based in the Seattle area and able to work on a hybrid schedule, including in-person support and physical equipment duties.

Responsibilities

• Own device and fleet management end to end.
• Administer MDM platforms and enrollment, maintaining full enrollment and patch compliance.
• Build automated onboarding and offboarding workflows across Ravenna, Google Workspace, and Gusto.
• Manage IT support requests and document recurring issues to reduce ticket volume.
• Operate security tooling and triage alerts from AWS and Panther, with documented runbooks.
• Engineer IT tooling initiatives end to end using code (Python/Go/TypeScript) and IaC (Terraform).
