Job summary

SSC, Inc. is seeking Security Officers to join our team in Danbury, CT. This full-time role involves patrolling, monitoring access, responding to emergencies, and ensuring safety for campus employees, students, and visitors. Leadership experience is preferred and state licensure may be required.

We offer varied shifts, strong customer service expectations, and a commitment to professional conduct and teamwork in a dynamic environment. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum one year of security experience.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
• Must possess a State Issued License as Security Officer or meet qualifications to complete state required Security Officer Affidavit/Registration.
• Be able to pass a drug screen.
• Have access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas by foot or vehicle.
• Observe conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Respond to emergency situations and/or alarms and contact appropriate emergency services.
• Monitor for unauthorized persons.
• Maintain access control of premises and monitor entrances and exits.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• Provide high level of customer service to clients, employees and visitors.

This is a Full Time position, working varied shifts and varied days of the week . Our Security Floaters are proficient and strive to support our Company's sole purpose which is to protect and secure the businesses we serve. We are seeking individuals capable of monitoring, analyzing and identifying situations and determining the best approach to resolve the situations they encounter. Ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, customer service skills, impressive ability to communicate well with other, and ability to think critically in any situation. Previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

Specific Duties and Job Functions:

• Perform security patrols of designated areas by foot or vehicle.

• Must posses a State Issued License as Security Officer (where applicable) or meet qualifications to complete state required Security Officer Affidavit/Registration.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Good working knowledge of Security Operations.


• Understanding of Safety Practices in a Business environment.


• Ability to provide high level of Customer Service.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Be computer proficient


• Read, understand and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing in communicating with the public and co-workers, giving and receiving instructions
